Home Manufacturing – Industrial Revolution 2.0

1931045_36686566429_1274_nOk, so that title ‘Home Manufacturing – Industrial Revolution 2.0’ sounds dramatic and the point of the article is not that it’s a dramatic thing; but that this revolution is a real long term potential and the trend is emerging now. If we look around us these days, there is an increasing demographic of DIY-er’s; that includes people into 3D printers, crafters and any number of other creative things people are ‘manufacturing’ on their own. Episode 11: The Robots Are Coming to Get You…

The Attack Robot

This is the Robot that hid behind the planter in the lobby and would attack customers with the nerf gun that is not shown but attaches to the side of this robot.

In this episode the robots are coming to get you, from vacuum cleaners to driving your car and other ‘inappropriate services’… are you ready?

I touch on topics from building your own robots with Lego’s (like the one here to the side) to working with ardiounos and more complex robots we see being commercial available what is coming and what might be creepy…

here are links to a few of the things I talked about:

Episode 9: The Harbinger of Death for the PC, Google Assimilates Kurzweil and the Death of the Mouse

Kurzweil

Kurzweil

In this episode I talk about some of the current stuff going on in the industry specifically and what I think about it. For example, how some shining star(s) seems to be surprised that PC sales have continued to drop even though 60 million licenses for Windows 8 have sold.  Further we’ll touch on what it means that Kurzweil now works at Google and the new emerging home industrial revolution of DIY’ers and Why the Mouse will not be going any where anytime soon.
